Café&Meal MUJI has special festive desserts, like Matcha Citrus Tree, and Christmas log cakes for takeaway or to be enjoyed in the cafe. The Japanese retail store with a minimalist design philosophy also offers affordable healthy festive meals at Café&Meal MUJI.
Café&Meal MUJI at Raffles City
Café&Meal MUJI at Raffles City is a self service cafeteria. It could be thought of as economical rice stall Japanese style (see our earlier post Cafe & Meal Muji at Raffles City to read about our visit to the cafe and see more photos of the place and the food). 3 years after its opening the place still looks the same. The prices for some of its items have increased.
Festive Meal at Café&Meal MUJI
We visited the cafe in Raffles City recently and had a regular 2 Deli Set ($12.80) and a Festive Set Meal ($18.80) which comprised four special festive deli dishes plus soup and rice.
The four special festive deli dishes (2 cold and 2 Hot) were Roasted Chicken Salad, Pineapple & Mozzarella Cheese Salad with Sherry Vinaigrette, Baked Chicken Wings with Corn and Daikon Salsa and Beef Au Gratin. We opted for the Carnot Soup and Steamed White Rice to complete the set.
Both the salad were quite nice. We especially liked the Pineapple salad for its interesting mix of texture and flavours. The sherry vinaigrette might also be another reason why we liked the salad.
The chicken wings had a combination of the fresh fruity flavours of the salsa and the smokiness of the tender chicken. They were quite enjoyable.
The Beef Au Gratin was the best item of our Festive Meal at Café&Meal MUJI. The beef patty was tender and scrumptious. It was gratinated with mozzarella cheese together roasted cauliflower and tomato. Muji’s beef casserole dish might look more like meat balls of the economical rice stall but the taste was certainly more akin to food in a decent French restaurant.
Enjoyable Festive Meal
We thought the festive meal at Café&Meal MUJI was an enjoyable one. So if you want a simple celebratory meal during the Christmas season, don’t forget about Café&Meal MUJI. You can get a healthy affordable meal in a pleasant space. The food is not fancy but at least a notch or two above those you get from the economical stall, plus there is the bonus of some great looking desserts.
The 4 Deli Festive Set Meal is available in both Raffles City & Plaza Singapura till 31 December 2020.
