Botany is an appealing venue along the Singapore River at Robertson Quay for a wholesome meal or a relaxing cup of coffee. The all day dining cafe serves a blend of Eastern and Western cuisines, with original recipes that rely on natural flavours and no MSG or preservatives.
Botany cafe at Robertson Quay
There is a strip of food & beverages establishments at Robertson Quat just next to the M Social Hotel. Toby’s Estate Cafe has been there for many years. Botany Cafe opened at the riverside location just before the pandemic. It is a great spot for those who enjoy outdoor dining. For pragmatic Singaporeans who prefer air-conditioning, choose a table inside the cafe by one of the large glass panels – that will give you a great view of the lush outdoor without having to put up with the heat and humidity.
Botany has a modern coffee shop interior with a blend of comfortable and sophisticated elements. There are plush sofa seats as well as regular dining tables. It has the homely atmosphere of a well-furnished apartment.
The Botany Cafe Menu
The menu of Botany offers the usual all day breakfast items as well as Asian fusion bowls and protein meals. They cater to various dietary preferences such as gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan.

Brunch @ Botany
We have brunch at Botany recently and went for the Signature Breakfast ($23) and the wholesome Protein Meal ($25). A flat white was $7 and a pot of ginger lemon tea was $8.
The breakfast dish of croissant, scrambled eggs and bratwurst was fairly standard cafe fare. What stood out was the salad of very green leafy kale punctuated by red cherry tomatoes and pomegranate seeds. The salad was crunchy and quite palatable even for someone who would usually not be a big fan of leafy greens. It also made us feel good when we thought of all the fibre, vitamins and anti-oxidants we were consuming.
Our Protein Meal was pan-seared salmon on salad. Salmon seared in a hot pan would be one of our favourite ways to eat salmon. It had a nice crust and tender meat – nothing fancy but quite enjoyable.
After all the healthy wholesome greens, we felt we were allowed to indulge ourselves. We had the Signature Basque Cheesecake (9). The soft creamy cheesecake was a nice treat.
Great Atmosphere
Botany at Robertson Quay serves nice wholesome food with options for various dietary preferences. The main reason to visit Botany though is its riverside dining atmosphere, which makes it a pretty cool spot to enjoy and food and drinks and linger for a while.
