Warabimochi Kamakura Holland Village Opens to Long Queues for Mochi

Warabimochi Kamakura Holland Village is the first Singapore outlet (and also in South East Asia) of this mochi dessert store from Japan. Located on the ground floor of the new One Holland Village mall, we have seen queues at this store ever since it opened in February 2024.

A Long Queue at One Holland Village

This was the longest queue we have seen. It stretched for 50 metres and was closely packed with people. Like the patient folks waiting in line, we were very curious about this shop. We did not join the queue but could not resist a quick look into the store to see what it was all about.

Warabimochi Kamakura Holland Village is a small little shop. The queue was long but orderly. The atmosphere in the shop was calm as the people waited for their turn. The strawberry yogurt / milk drinks seem to be the most popular and was sold out quite early.

Because of the strong demand, they have limited purchases to 2 boxes and 2 drinks per customer. We have yet to taste these products but will try to do so on a day when the queue is not so long.

Japan’s Original Warabimochi Kamakura desserts are sold in the form of pieces of mochi in boxes as well as Warabimochi drinks. This type of mochi is apparently lighter than the usual chewy mochi. Here is a picture of the menu with prices.

Opening Hours

Do note the opening hours. According to an Instagram post on the Warabimochi Kamakura Holland Village website, the new hours were set in late February to provide ample preparation time before opening time and better queue times.
