Bouillon Gavroche is a new French restaurant in Mandarin Gallery along Orchard Road. Described as “Singaporeโs first traditional Parisian Bouillon”, the introduction of a fresh dining concept that combines affordable prices and all-day dining hours (from 11.30am to 10pm) make this a welcome addition to the top shopping area of the Lion City. We went there for a weekday lunch while the paint was fresh and the congratulatory bouquets were still lush and bright.

New French Restaurant at Orchard Road Singapore
The new Bouillon Gavroche is located on the ground floor of Mandarin Gallery. In addition to the main dining space seen in the photo below, there is a smaller area on the right which could potentially be partitioned off for a private event. It is quite a large restaurant. The decor is bright and colourful with a nice Parisian style decor. It also carries over the tradition of small tables placed very close together. This was not an issue during our quiet lunch on a weekday but peak hours on a weekend might be different. No reservations are available at this new buillon on Orchard Road. Walk-ins only, making this a very convenient place for dining during off-peak hours in between shopping or errands.

Bouillon Gavroche by Brasserie Gavroche
Described generally in the Michelin Guide as “the brasserieโs less opulent cousin”, the bouillon is said to have first appeared around 1860 and was essentially working class, with a simpler cuisine based onโas the name impliesโbouillons or broths enriched with bits of meat and vegetables. The new Bouillon Gavroche is a related restaurant of Brasserie Gavroche at Mohamed Sultan Rd in Singapore. Ten years ago in 2016 we had visited Brasserie Gavroche at their original location at Tras Street and had a good dining experience.

Now in 2026 we get to try their younger, “less opulent cousin”. No table cloths and the table ware were less elegant but new and clean. In these days, less opulence may be what we need.
Bouillon Gavroche Menu
The entire restaurant menu is available online. Here are some pictures taken off the QR menu at the restaurant. Prices are indeed affordable especially in the Orchard Road context. Prices for side dishes range from $6 to $16. The most expensive main course is the steak that costs $28++.

Bouillon Gavroche Wine Menu
Here are pictures of the wine menu. The Bouillon Gavroche wine prices are reflective of the food prices – i.e. reasonably affordable with wines by the glass priced around $10 and bottles from $52 to $98.

We tried the white wine by the glass – 2024 Domaine de Bila-Haut Villages Cรดtes du Rhรดne Blanc. It was a decent wine and good enough for a long weekday lunch.

Weekday Lunch French Dining at Orchard Road

French bagette and butter ($4) was the first item to arrive. The baguette was good with a thin crust and soft interior, sort of like a Delifrance baguette in its heyday in Singapore. But the butter was quite unremarkable. Best to eat this bread with the fried cheese which arrived soon after.

The Camembert Panรฉ (deep-fried Camembert cheese with green salad, $14) was an enjoyable dish. With a deep fried crust keeping the cheese inside warm and molten, this was the perfect ingredient to eat with the baguette.

Providing some crunch and vitamin C was the Salade dโEndives (endive Salad with walnuts and green apple $12). The portion size was quite small. Other than that it was very good.

Our main course was a boullion classic dish – Saumon Ratatouille (pan-seared salmon in vegetable stew $24). The fish part of the dish was quite average. Fortunately, the ratatouille was there to provide some flavours of complexity.
