Putien Kitchener Road (莆田)is located on the fringe of Little India. This one Michelin Star restaurant listed in the Singapore Michelin Guides 2016 and 2017 does not have a five-star location. It is good that the Michelin folks have spotted this restaurant that is away from the usual gourmet pockets like Keong Saik or Orchard Road. Putien Kitchener Road is the original Putien restaurant. From there, the Putien restaurant chain has spread to 12 outlets in Singapore and many more overseas. We had been to some of their other outlets such as Putien Ion Orchard, but not the main restaurant.
The newly opened Blue Jasmine Thai Restaurant is located in Park Hotel Farrer Park. This new hotel is conveniently located atop the Farrer Park MRT station and right next to the Farrer Park Hospital. A stone’s throw away from the bustling Little India district off Serangoon Road, it faces competition from the large number of dining options in the area as well as the restaurants in the Connexion Owen Link complex.
Ministry of Food (M.O.F.) is a Singapore restaurant group with names such Jun Hao Xiao Long Bao, Danro, Insadong Korean Town, Social Square, Dolce Tokyo and Lenas in its stable. Korean hot pot, grill BBQ and desserts can be found in there too. We decided to try the all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ Buffet at Daessiksin by MOF @ Nex.

No prize for guessing that Shepherd’s pie is on the menu of Shepherd Cafe . Continue reading →
The Coffee Daily is a small little cafe tucked away in a row of shophouses that is a distance away from the central round-about area of Serangoon Garden. It is located along Brighton Crescent, which is at the edge of the Serangoon Garden estate, near Yio Chu Kang Road. It is a cafe which we had not been to in a long while. We dropped in to see if it anything has changed.
