Diners looking for a Peranakan restaurant in the Lavender neighbourhood now have a new dining option at Aperia Mall. Martina’s Kitchen opened its second outlet at Aperia Mall in the middle of 2026, following the brand’s initial launch at Seletar Aerospace Park.

Martina’s Kitchen at Aperia Mall
The new Martina’s Kitchen at Aperia Mall sits on the ground level of the mall. However, its main entrance faces Lavender Street rather than the shopping corridors inside. Consequently, visitors walking through the mall interior might miss it.

The interior is spacious and is designed to be like the courtyard of a traditional Nyonya home. One wall has brightly painted wooden window shutters. Additionally, display cabinets show off Nyonya porcelain, beaded slippers known as kasut manek, and vintage tiffin carriers. Red lanterns hang from the dark red ceiling above the central tiled bar.

The seating layout feels well spaced and structured for different group sizes. High bamboo bar stools with red velvet seats surround the tiled counter in the middle of the restaurant. There are regular dining tables as well red bench seating that runs along the inner wall. At the back of the dining area, a wooden stage hosts live acoustic performances on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Menu of Martina’s Kitchen
The menu combines traditional Peranakan dishes with popular Western options. Founder Eileen Tay-Wong based the recipes on her family heritage. Moreover, the kitchen prepares all food without added MSG.
The menu offer starters like Kueh Pie Tee and Satay. Main courses include classic options like Babi Pongteh, Nyonya Curry Duck and Steamed Assam Red Snapper. Western choices range from Sirloin Steak to Salmon Spaghetti.
Below are pictures of the menu pages.

Martina’s Kitchen also offers breakfast and high tea.
During weekday lunch hours (11 am to 3 pm), lunch sets and executive set meals provide fair value. The executive lunch sets include a choice of coffee, tea, or a soft drink.

Lunch at Martina’s Kitchen
We ordered two executive lunch sets – Rendang Chicken Curry with Blue Pea Rice ($17) and Dry Laksa ($18) -during a weekday visit. The total waiting time exceeded 15 minutes before the food arrived at the table. Drinks were served more promptly.
Rendang Chicken Curry with Blue Pea Rice

The Rendang Chicken Set came in a green leaf-shaped platter. A whole chicken leg was served in a bowl filled with thick curry gravy. Blue pea-stained rice and a side of achar were served witht he curry chicken..
The chicken meat was tender and separated easily from the bone. The gravy was thickand and rich mildly spicy. It was more like a standard curry chicken, with thicker curry, rather than a deeply caramelised, dry-style rendang.
On the whole, it was a nice satisfying meal but nothing exceptional.

Dry Laksa
The Dry Laksa came in an ornate red-and-white floral deep dish. Thick rice vermicelli noodles were tossed in a concentrated laksa paste. The dish was topped with large prawns, sliced tau pok and finely shredded herbs.

The noodles had a soft texture and absorbed the savoury gravy well. The paste tasted like a concentrated gravy of good delicious laksa. It was mildly spicy. Overall, we thought it was delicious.

Food was of a good, enjoyable standard
The overall dining experience at Martina’s Kitchen was pleasant. The service staff were attentive and polite, while the restaurant atmosphere felt charming and amiable. Furthermore, the food was of a good, enjoyable standard without being exceptional. It would be a good option for office workers, family gatherings, or diners seeking casual, MSG-free Peranakan food in an interesting setting. Its menu also caters to diverse tastes, offering choices for early brunch, high tea, lunch and late evening meals accompanied by live music.
