Even before the Singapore Botanic Gardens was awarded the UNESCO World Heritage Site status, we had considered it to be the best public space in Singapore. Since the award, the SBG has become even better. To help our readers plan a day out at the park, here is our list of Botanic Gardens Restaurants as well as some ideas on what to see and do there.
Relish by Wild Rocket at Cluny Court in Bukit Timah is one of our favourite places to eat around that area. We have written more extensively about it in an earlier post Relish @ Cluny Court by Wild Rocket – burger restaurant and more. You can find more pictures about the place and the food there. This time we decided not to try our usual favourite items – the Wild Rocket Burger and the hae bee hiam pasta. We had a simple lunch of two items that we had not tried before.
Affogato Bar is a tiny cafe in Cluny Court, the small shopping arcade across the Botanic Garden MRT station. It is one of a few eateries in this building at the junction of Cluny Road and Bukit Timah Road. Each of them is small, but together they make up an interesting warren of assorted and specialised food places in this part of Singapore. We stopped by for coffee and dessert at Affogato Bar recently.
Corner House is a beautiful old two-storey black and white bungalow and also a Michelin star restaurant in Singapore Botanic Gardens. Creative cuisine prepared with quality ingredients, beautiful plating, amiable service and a historical building set amidst a lush UNESCO World Heritage Site – there surely are very few things in Singapore as romantic as having dinner at Corner House.
Botanico at the Garage in Singapore Botanic Gardens is the restaurant located above the casual diner Bees Knees (read about our visit here). Still relatively new, Botanico had previously only opened for dinner. They recently started serving lunch. They have set lunch options which looked interesting and so we made a beeline to Botanico for lunch recently.
