Anti:dote is a beautifully appointed cocktail bar located on the grand lobby of Fairmont Hotel Singapore in Raffles City. The bar is sleek and trendy and can boast of award-winning mixologists. Modern tapas can be enjoyed with a wide selection of traditional cocktails as well as progressive concoctions. Anti:dote Fairmont is, however, not a just a nice place for drinks in the evening. Pastries, coffee and tea are available for breakfast. Afternoon tea and lunch are served from Monday to Thursday.
We were attracted by Anti:dote’s sleek and attractive decor and decided to have lunch there. As you can see below, the lunch menu of Anti:dote Fairmont is rather limited.
We ordered the Anti:dote Salad in a Jar ($12) and the Angus Beef Burger ($22). The wait for the food was about 15 to 20 minutes. While we waited water was offered and bread was served. The bread and butter came nicely presented on a wooden board and the bread was good.
As the name suggested, the Anti:dote Salad came packed in a jar with the dressing at the bottom and the leaves and other ingredients layered on top. Everything stayed separate until we shook the salad into a shallow salad bowl. It was an interesting way to serve salad in a restaurant. The combination of ingredients for the salad was well balanced, with pomegranate seeds adding colour and contrasting texture to the mix.
The Angus Beef Burger with fries also came attractively presented. Taste wise, we thought the burger was quite average.
On the whole, we like the ambience of Anti:dote Fairmont Singapore and the service was professional and of the high standard expected of a hotel like Fairmont. The food we had for lunch was visually interesting but otherwise ordinary.
