How can anyone resist such a beautiful chocolate pistachio tart calling out from the cake display case? Not us. When we were at Bread Yard for coffee recently, we knew exactly what to order.
Bread Yard is a bakery cafe in Galaxis Building in Fusionopolis. It is right opposite Katto where we just had a Poke bowl lunch (see our previous post). During a visit some time back we had tried their dark chocolate bread pudding and thought that it was pretty good. Their sea salted chocolate pistachio tart was even better! You can read more about the cafe and their menu in our earlier post.
The chocolate pistachio tart ($7) was not a big tart, only about 10 cm in diameter and 2 cm in thickness. We thought it was just right to be shared by two people without feeling guilty. Black coffee and cappuccino costs $3.5 and $4.5 respectively.
The chocolate was thick and robust in taste. Broken pieces of pistachio and sprinkled crystals of sea salt provided the crunch and bursts of saltiness. The crust had the right blend of crumbliness and chewiness. A perfect coffee and dessert combination.
