National Day Celebrations
National Day Parade 2019 will return to the Padang on 9 August 2019 with the theme “Our Singapore” to commemorate the Singapore Bicentennial. A spectacular firework display will mark the end of the Parade (NDP) Show 2019. The hotels and restaurants around Padang and Marina Bay have special National Day Fireworks Packages and many other restaurants and cafes have special National Day Celebrations Specials.
Mooncake Fairs 2019
In August, you can start sampling the mooncakes that come in different colours and flavours at one of the many mid-autumn fairs. The big one – the Takashimaya Mooncake Fair – will start o 8 August 2019.

Since its establishment in 1963, Gordon Grill has been a prominent curator in orchestrating exquisite fare of Continental cuisine and fine steaks in Singapore. From 2 August to 29 September, the elegant restaurant presents a gastronomic journey around Europe with time-honoured dishes specially curated by the culinary team.
Available during lunch as a three-course set menu and dinner with a choice of four-course set menu or an eight-course degustation, the repertoire highlights the gourmet exemplars of European regions such as Greece, France, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Norway, Great Britain, Portugal, Germany and Austria.
Highlights of the voyage include luscious Pan-fried Foie Gras with balsamic cherries and rocket leaves, hearty Goulash Soup that is slow-cooked with beef, onion potato, sweet paprika, caraway seeds, and succulent Grilled Angus Tenderloin served with Scottish clapshot, butter vegetables and red wine jus. Carousel will be having a Italian food promotion by guest chef Dario Busnelli, who has worked in multiple Michelin-starred restaurants throughout his career.
The extensive menu will include – Tagliata di Manzo, old-fashioned fine herb prime rib roast tagliata; Raviolone alla Bergese, Bergese style whole raviolo with spinach and ricotta filling, quail egg yolk served with sage and butter noisette, grated aged castelmagno cheese; Risotto al Nero di Seppia con Frutti di Mare, black ink risotto with fresh seafood of the day; Pizza al Frutti di Mare, specially created by chef Dario for Carousel, this 48-hour proofed pizza is topped with a variety of fresh seafood and olives.
The Buona Italia! buffet will be available from 12 to 25 August, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on weekdays at $80++ (adults) and $46++ (children); weekends at $88++ (adults) and $49++ (children).
