Sawadee Thai Cuisine Takeaway

Sawadee Thai Cuisine started business in 2001 and moved into its current location at Tan Quee Lan Street at the end of 2013. It has a loyal following and is one of the more popular Thai restaurants in Singapore. Sawadee Thai Cuisine now offers its extensive range of Thai dishes as well as affordable bento, comfort Thai set and sumptuous Thai set for takeaway and delivery.

Sawadee Thai Cuisine Menu

The menu of Sawadee Thai Cuisine covers most of the Thai dishes you would expect to find in Singapore. You can read about our previous visit to Sawadee restaurant and see photos of the dishes we had tried – Sawadee Thai Cuisine Restaurant at Tan Quee Lan Street.

In addition to the regular a la carte items, they also have special bentos for 1 (from $12.50), comfort set and deluxe set for 4 to 5 ($75) and sumptuos set for 4 to 5 ($90). Delivery, takeaway and drive through pick are possible.

Sawadee Takeaway Bento

We ordered a Bento Set B ($13.50) and a Bento Set C ($16.50). We enjoyed a 15% discount for self collection.

The Bento Set B comprised Papaya Salad, Mixed Vegetables, Stuffed Chicken Wing and Pineapple Rice. The portions were quite generous. The Thai Stuffed Chicken Wing (or Peek Kai Sord Sai) was a deboned wing stuffed with mushrooms, meat and spices. It was nice but a tad dry. The chilli sauce provided helped to make it more palatable. The papaya salad had a crunchy texture and was refreshing. The pineapple rice was quite nice.

The Bento SetC had Thai Fish Cakes, Stir Fried Kai Lan, Green Curry Chicken and Pineapple Rice.

The fish cakes were in fact in the shape of balls. There were very spciy and the texture were a bit too soft for our liking. The green curry was very good, the best item of the meal. It was not spicy and not too sweet and had enough zing to excite the taste buds.

Affordable Meal

There are quite a number of very good dishes on the menu of Sawadee Thai Cuisine. However, other than the green curry, the items in the 2 bento sets we tried were fairly ordinary. It was not Thai food to rave about but we had a nice affordable meal for 2 for under $30.
