Studio M Hotel is a stylish 4-star hotel with a prime district 9 address. At its Memo Café, there is a weekday 2-course set lunch at just $18++.
Memo Café
Millennium Hotels and Resorts’ Studio M Hotel is located at the junction of Nanson Road and Mohamed Sultan Road. Memo Café is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant on the ground floor.
Greenery is the design theme of Memo Café. The long and narrow interior has green plants on the floor, shelves, tables, wall and ceiling. It has a naturally ventilated dining area outside. The furniture is functional. Overvall, it is a pleasant casual dining space.
It has a good range of beverages but the food menu is not extensive. There are breakfast and snack items plus a few all-day dining mains such as fish & chips and pasta.
Memo Cafe Set Lunch
Currently, it has a special lunch promotion. Weekday Set Lunch Menu at $18.00++ per person is available Monday to Friday from 11 am to 3 pm. The set includes 1 Appetizer, 1 Main Course selected from the Menu and 1 Complimentary Beverage from the Menu.
We opted for the Breakfast Burrito and Spaghetti Bolognese for our mains and hot coffee for the drinks.
The wait for the food was fairly reasonable, about 15 to 20 minutes. Water was served while we waited.
The appetizer that came with the pasta dish was a bowl of refreshing salad. The Spaghetti Bolognese with minced beef and delicately chopped tomatoes was delectable. It was rich and meaty with nice aroma and flavours.
The Breakfast Burrito, which came with fries and salad, was attractively plated. There were lots of ingredients within the tortilla wrap – including chipolata sausage, ham, fried egg, hashbrown avocado. Lots of different flavours were packed into the burrito – smoky, peppery, bright, fresh, fruity and more. It was tasty and surprisingly filling.
The coffee was fine, better than most coffee from the average hotel coffee house but not as good as those you may now find in specialty coffee shops.
Affordable Lunch in the City
If you are looking for a place for lunch in the River Valley – Robertson Quay area, Memo Cafe is a good option, especially on a weekday. The Memo Cafe Set Lunch at $18.00++ is good value.
