Alkaff Mansion is a stately colonial bungalow located on a hill at Telok Blangah Green. Built in 1918 by a member of the prominent Alkaff family as a weekend house, it has seen its days as a venue for high society parties and wedding venue as well as being home to the headquarters of the World Buddhist Society and a Dutch-Indonesian restaurant specialising in rijstaffel. Today the ground floor of the two-storey Tudor-styled bungalow houses the Wildseed Cafe by day and the TXA Bar by night. Wildseed Café Alkaff Mansion is an offshoot of the original Wildseed that opened at The Summerhouse in Seletar in 2017.
麥士威83号 Teochew Hand Made Squid Ball, Pork Ball, Mixed Soup at Telok Blangah Crescent used to be at Maxwell Road Food Centre. It must have built up a new fan base or loyal customers from Maxwell Road have followed them all the way to Teluk Blanga (which in Malay means “cooking pot bay”). On a Saturday morning, 麥士威83号 Teochew Hand Made Squid Ball, Pork Ball, Mixed Soup is one of the few stalls in Telok Blangah Crescent Market & Food Centre with long queues.
