Timbre Plus (or Timbre+) Gastropark is a smart food centre concept in One-North Ayer Rajah. It has a wide range of food options including some of the best noodles in Singapore by Fishball Story and Wong Kee Wanton Noodles.  We just learned this morning that Fishball Story has earned a Bib Gourmand award in the inaugural Singapore Michelin Guide.  We will tell you more about Timbre+ food park and show you more pictures in our next post.

We had always thought that Jiu Jiang Shao La serves the best roast duck in Singapore. It is a roast meat stall in the Ghim Moh Market and Food Centre which we had previously written about in general. They are a stall that regularly attracts a long queue of char siew and roast duck fans. We recently bought their roast duck and were blown away by the taste.  The best roast duck in Singapore deserves a story of its own (and better pictures).

Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant in Carlton Hotel is one of the most well-known Chinese restaurants of Singapore.  We believe that it is probably on many people’s list of the best Chinese restaurants in Singapore. Weekend lunches at Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant have to be booked in advance and those in the first dining slot starting from 11.00 am have to vow to finish eating in one and a half hours.  Which was what we did.

Beni Singapore – a 15 seat restaurant that serves French cuisine, Japanese style

The Beni Singapore restaurant is quite an unusual restaurant. It is related to the Hashida Garo restaurant next door, on level 4 of Mandarin Gallery. It serves French cuisine with produce from Japan and is helmed by Japanese chefs. Chef Kenji Yamanaka is Chef de Cuisine in this small, minimalist restaurant that only has 15 seats along a U-shaped counter. The pictures of Beni Singapore above and below are misleading as there is a mirrored wall on the right, which doubles up the illusion of space.  The restaurant is essentially a small black box with spot-lighting trained on the countertop.  It is quite an experience to be led into a restaurant such as this.
