Restaurant JAG is a one Michelin star French contemporary restaurant located in the STPI Creative Workshop and Gallery. STPI (short for Singapore Tyler Print Institute) is a dynamic creative workshop and contemporary art gallery based in Singapore. Together with JAG, they are on level 2 of a preserved old building at Robertson Quay along the Singapore River.

From Duxton Road to Robertson Quay

The last time we visited Restaurant Jag was in 2020 when they were in their old premises at Duxton Road (picture above). From a dark narrow shophouse to a historic building with bright windows and a Singapore river view, we certainly find their new home more attractive.

Now we can admire the colourful Alkaff Bridge from our table.

Restaurant JAG Menu
This is a picture of the Restaurant JAG menu for lunch at the time of our visit. For lunch, there is an a la carte menu and a tasting menu starting from $175++. We understand that there is a new menu since our visit and so what we experienced may not be the same for future visits. At this point we look back on our 2020 lunch with a degree of envy. That visit took place in the heart of COVID and a wallet friendly menu priced at $58++ was made available.

Restaurant JAG at STPI said to be known for their mastery of vegetable gastronomy. It was no surprise to see vegetables highlighted in their dishes. These were the spring vegetables featured in the Spring 2025 menu.

Promenade du Végétal Lunch at Restaurant JAG
Amuse bouche and Bread
These were the small snacks that were served at the start of lunch.

Our favourite item was the bread which had a good balance of crust and a chewy interior. Two types of butter were served.

Starters

Our starters were a langoustine dish (picture above) and a fish dish (arctic char). They were both beautifully presented but we felt that the natural flavours of the seafood were subdued by the sauces and accompanying condiments.

A small frozen chocolate lolly to cleanse the palate before the main course.

Meat Course
The meat course of Sanchoku Wagyu (which according to an internet search is a type of premium Australian Wagyu beef) was the best dish of the day. The meat was rich and deep flavoured, enhanced by the sauce.

Restaurant JAG lunch : Cheese and Dessert
Marking the start of the final part of our lunch. Four cheeses were served to us. They were interesting choices with different textures and flavours.

After the cheese, we were presented with a dry ice display.

A white chocolate dessert and some mignardises brought our lunch at Restaurant JAG STPI Robertson Quay to a sweet end.
