News: New Elevated Halal Food Hall Opens at Northpoint City

Singaporeโ€™s accessible dining scene continues to see exciting new options with the opening of Bagus Food Hall at Northpoint City. Kopitiam launched the new food court in May 2026, marking it as the nationโ€™s first elevated, fully halal-certified food hall. The new destination replaces the traditional food court model with a design-led environment.

The Bagus Food Hall spans over several units in the South Wing of Northpoint City mall. It offers a seating capacity of 290 people. This launch represents a shift for the Kopitiam brand. Moving forward, the company plans to rebrand all existing Cantine by Kopitiam outlets under the Bagus concept.

Design and Community Focus

The interior design takes inspiration from Malay heritage. The space uses warm earthy tones and natural textures. Subtle visual cues, such as shapes resembling banana leaves and cloves, appear throughout the hall.

Local artist Hafizah created a standout illuminated installation called “Ulam-ulaman”. This artwork hangs overhead and reinterprets botanical elements through a modern lens. At the entrance, visitors see a canopy of colour-changing LED lanterns above the escalators.

The concept also emphasizes community connection through “Bagus Beats”. This is a shared playlist where diners and staff can contribute songs.

A Curated Culinary Mix

The food hall features 12 cooked food stalls and two additional stalls for drinks and desserts. The selection focuses on international flavours while maintaining full halal certification.

Nasi Ambeng Set - Pack Shot

One major highlight is Sedap Kitchen, a collaboration between Kopitiam and local partners. It serves a modern take on nasi padang. Diners can choose the signature Nasi Ambeng Set or the Beef Rendang Set. The stall aims to provide lighter flavours that still use traditional cooking techniques.

Fans of Chinese flavours have several options. Tang Tea House offers a blend of tze-char and halal dim sum. It has served the local community since 2005. For those seeking spice, Monster Chili provides halal-certified mala xiang guo.

Roasted Chicken Rice

Other notable stalls include:

  • Telur Thai: Authentic Thai dishes like Golden Egg Floss Pad Thai made with ingredients from Bangkok.
  • Pho Viet: Vietnamese comfort food, including Beef Pho that blends Northern and Southern styles.
  • Krispi: A stall specializing in rou jia mo, which are traditional Chinese “burgers” with slow-braised meats.
  • Seabay Delight: Local favourites like Singapore fried kway teow.
  • Jiak Pa Pa Ban Mian: Handmade noodles served in soup bases simmered from scratch.
