Le Petit Katong Refreshes Menu with European-Inspired Mains

Katong remains a popular destination for weekend brunch-goers and casual diners. Situated within the Katong V shopping mall, Le Petit Katong has recently refreshed its food offerings. Operated by local hospitality group Group Therapy in the space formerly occupied by Group Therapy Katong, the bistro continues its French-inspired concept while updating its lineup of light bites, pasta, and classic desserts. It also offers attractively price set menus for lunch as well as dinner.

Food and Dining Experience

The updated food menu balances European bistro options with familiar cafe staples. Breakfast choices include acai bowls well as toasted butter Croissant stuffed with a Scrambled Egg ($9), which we tried.

We also had a new item from the menu,ย Seafood Aglio Olio ($26). It was prepared with linguine, mussels, tiger prawns, and cherry tomatoes, and was topped with crispy breadcrumbs and fresh chives for added texture. The portion of seafood was generous, making it feel more like a seafood dish served with pasta than a standard pasta dish.

We also had the Roasted Tomato & Garlic Pasta ($18).  The dish used lumache (shell-shaped) pasta which was coated in a thick, rich roasted tomato sauce infused with olive oil, garlic, and fresh basil. The pasta was generously covered with a layer of finely shredded cheese. Finely chopped fresh chives was added for colour and aroma.

We enjoyed both the pasta dishes.

There was a set lunch (priced at $25 for a 2 cource and $28 for a 3 course). There was also a two course set dinner menu priced at $28.

Our two course set lunch included a wild mushroom cappucino soup and a whole roasted cauliflower head served over a rich tomato-based sauce, finished with shredded cheese, chives, and toasted hazelnuts.

For dessert, we had Crรชpes Suzette ($18), which featured thin French pancakes folded in a warm orange and caramel Grand Marnier sauce, garnished with fresh citrus segments.

The overall dining experience was pleasant and efficient. Service staff were prompt with orders and served complimentary iced water without diners having to ask.
