We tried a chicken rice takeaway lunch from the Wee Nam Kee United Square. WNK had launched an island-wide delivery service recently. This makes it easy for anyone to enjoy their famous chicken rice without leaving home. There is also an option of a pick up from the United Square outlet, which was what we did.

The Restaurant @ Mandalay Guild House, NUSS

The new Mandalay Guild House is the third clubhouse of the National University of Singapore Society (NUSS). It is located on Mandalay Road, near the National Skin Centre. It is mainly a wine and dine place with some facilities for meetings and classes. We had lunch at The Restaurant @ Mandalay Guild House. We will also show you pictures of the other facilities at the end of this post.

Dinner at Duckland Restaurant in United Square, but we did not eat duck

Duckland Restaurant in United Square is a new outlet opened by TungLok Restaurant group. It is an unusual name for a restaurant but at least it makes clear what to expect at the place. Except that when we got there, their signature duck dishes were sold out. Duckland was more popular than we expected. There seems to be more duck restaurants opening recently, including the Yan Chuan Roaster restaurant that we wrote about yesterday. Is duck the new chicken?

Baan Ying Singapore – New Thai Restaurant in Royal Square, Novena Singapore

Baan Ying Singapore is a new Thai Restaurant in Royal Square. Royal Square is a new complex at the corner of Thomson Road and Irrawaddy Road. It is sandwiched between Novena Square Velocity and Novena Square 2. The three buildings are internally linked to each other and to the Novena MRT station. According to the Baan Ying SG website, this is their first restaurant outside Thailand. The restaurant features Thai home cooking. “Baan Ying” translates to Auntie Ying’s home. They serve genuine flavours of Thailand using Auntie Ying’s receipes.
