Real Food Orchard Central is a cafe set up by the people of the organic grocery shop Real Food Grocer. The vegetarian cafe serves food with “No processed ingredients, No Artificial Preservatives and No Trans-fat”. We had visited their outlet at South Beach Singapore and thought that it was quite a nice place (read about our visit here). We recently stopped by at the Orchard Road outlet and it looks even better!
The famous South Beach Diet focuses on good carbohydrates, healthy fats and plenty of lean protein as a way to lose weight and improve health. We don’t have the willpower to follow a strict diet plan even though we could do with some weight loss. The closest thing to the South Beach Diet for us is to head to Real Food at South Beach. In this restaurant run by people who believe in serving good, ethical and healthy food, we can get a variety of meat-free dishes prepared with ingredients devoid of preservatives and other questionable additives.
An eye catching SCMP headline may have announced that “Beer is good for your health” but a meat free meal is still the more conventional component of a healthy eating plan. 蔬品轩 D’life Signature is a new vegetarian restaurant in Parkway Parade which should appeal to the health-conscious food lovers. It is established by the owners of D’Life Bistro that is known for their reasonably priced meat-free menu.
Vegetarian food in Singapore is not dull, bland or limited. Meat-free diners have an extensive array of restaurants, cafes and street food stalls to choose from in multiracial and multi-religious Singapore. There are Indian vegetarian eateries, Chinese vegetarian restaurants as well as fancy vegetarian and vegan cafes scattered all across our island city. A few of these vegetarian F&B outlets offer food so tempting that it might even persuade hard core carnivores to turn vegetarians for a meal or two. We share with those looking for meat-free dining options The Ordinary Patrons (TOP) list of vegetarian restaurants in Singapore.
Elemen Harbourfront Centre is the third Singapore outlet of popular vegetarian restaurant Elemen. According to their website, Elemen is a restaurant that respects life and promises to bring to their customers (among other things), “…an abundance of natural recipes that will nourish as well as heal your body and mind”.
