Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine 醉宇轩经典潮膳 is a new restaurant by the Jumbo Group. It opened recently in April 2019 at a beautiful two-storey heritage building located in Far East Square. Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine and the more casual Chao Ting next door join Chui Huay Lim Restaurant as the Jumbo Group’s Teochew restaurants in Singapore. We had lunch at Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine.
We enter a beautiful ancient doorway into an inner courtyard before reaching the restaurant proper. This is the most interesting part of the new Teochew restaurant, Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine.
The restaurant interior is contemporary with some Chinese accents. It feels more luxurious than sister restaurant Chui Huay Lim in the Newton area.

Wok Fried ‘Kway Teow’ with Diced ‘Kai Lan’ and Preserved Radish ($18) was a simple plate of fried flat rice noodles with bits of kai lan. What made it nicer than it sounded was the ‘wok

Right next door to Zui Yu Xuan is Chao Ting 潮亭 at Far East Square. Also opened by the Jumbo Group, this small eatery serves quick casual Teochew fare for the busy people working around Raffles Place and Shenton Way. They specialise in “Pao Fan” – rice in seafood broth. Here is a picture of the Chao Ting 潮亭 menu.
