Alkaff Mansion is a stately colonial bungalow located on a hill at Telok Blangah Green. Built in 1918 by a member of the prominent Alkaff family as a weekend house, it has seen its days as a venue for high society parties and wedding venue as well as being home to the headquarters of the World Buddhist Society and a Dutch-Indonesian restaurant specialising in rijstaffel. Today the ground floor of the two-storey Tudor-styled bungalow houses the Wildseed Cafe by day and the TXA Bar by night. Wildseed Café Alkaff Mansion is an offshoot of the original Wildseed that opened at The Summerhouse in Seletar in 2017.
The Alkaff Mansion is surrounded by lush greenery and has welcoming outdoor spaces adorned with a gazebo and fountains. Wildseed Café Alkaff Mansion is a pet-friendly cafe that takes full advantage of its unique location. There is an outdoor area where guests can sit under the shade of old trees.
The interior space is beautifully appointed. With floral tiles on the floor and
walls and plenty of dark wood, the space has a classy vibrant atmosphere.
The best seats in the house may be those along the corridors. The enclosed corridors are air-conditioned but diners seated there get plenty of natural light and a view of the outdoors.
Wildseed Café Menu
Wildseed Café at Alkaff Mansion is an all-day dining cafe. It also offers beautiful pastries and cakes created by Executive Pastry Chef Jasmin Chew and the drinks menu lists a good selection of artisanal coffee and teas.

Brunch at Wildseed Café Alkaff Mansion
We visited Wildseed Café Alkaff Mansion on a recent weekend. We ordered a Bak Kwa Pizza ($21) and the Miso Shitake Linguine ($17). Currently, with every main menu item ordered, diners get a cup of coffee on the house.
Our food and coffee were served very promptly. The Bak Kwa pizza was quite a large one. The pizza crust had a nice texture – it was soft and slightly chewy with a delicious crisp. They could be more generous with the pieces of bak kwa, which was tender and sweet. The hoisin sauce made the pizza really enjoyable.
The Miso Shitake Linguine looked rich and good and the taste did not disappoint. The portion was quite generous. The linguine was prepared with braised shiitake, sweet corn, fried sakura ebi, asparagus and a poached egg. Everything combined well with the creamy miso sauce to produce a flavourful and delightful pasta dish.
The coffee at Wildseed Café was robust and good. Their beautiful tarts and cakes were extremely tempting.
Charming Weekend Brunch Spot
As was often the case, we forgot to leave room for the sweets and had to pass on the having desserts. However, that just means we will need to visit Wildseed Café Alkaff Mansion again and we believe we will be going back to the charming cafe on the hill soon. The charming cafe in Alkaff Mansion is a unique place for breakfast, lunch or tea away from the city. Wildseed Café is an ideal place for a leisurely weekend brunch.
