Sofitel Singapore City Centre, in collaboration with National Gallery Singapore, presents the “City of Flavours” afternoon tea at its 1864 lobby lounge. This new offering draws inspiration from the exhibition “City of Others: Asian Artists in 1920s – 1940s Paris.”

The afternoon tea features a curated selection of five savouries and five sweets. The menu integrates Asian flavours with French patisserie, reflecting the artistic journey of Asian artists in Paris during a significant period in modern art. Highlights include the Sansho Pepper Duck Rillette, inspired by Tsuguharu Foujita’s “Self-Portrait in the Studio” (1926), and the Scallop & Yam Fritter, a tribute to Yun Gee’s “Place Maubert” (1929).

A notable item is the Pandan Lapis with Coconut Mousse & Salted Gula Melaka Gateau de Voyage, an interpretation of the traditional travel cake that acknowledges Singaporean artist Liu Kang’s time in Paris. Guests are also provided with food-safe paints to create edible art on a slate, adding an interactive dimension to the experience.
