One-North, Fusionopolis and the other zones in this area that stretches from the Buona Vista MRT to the One-North MRT stations have always been confusing to us until we started exploring the place and finding out what to eat there. So no worries, today we have The Ordinary Patrons’ (TOP) List of restaurants and food places in Fusionopolis and One North. We will also try our best to describe the area to you.
First we start by defining what exactly is One-North. It is neither one nor in the north. It is made up of many areas in a huge 200 hectare zone overseen by JTC. According to the JTC One North website: “one-north is designed to host a cluster of world-class research facilities and business park space, all built to support the growth of Biomedical Sciences, Infocomm Technology (ICT), Media, Physical Sciences and Engineering.”
One North is made up of separate components – such as Fusionopolis, Rochester Park, Mediapolis, Wessex and Nepal Hill, Biopolis and JTC Launchpad. Mixed up among all these areas are two other developments: Metropolis and Star Vista. These are private projects and are not technically part of One-North or looked after by JTC, but we will include them in here nonetheless because there are places to eat.
Fusionopolis
Here are the restaurants that we have tried in Fusionopolis. The cluster of buildings around the One North MRT Station is “designed to provide an environment conducive to growth in the information and communications technologies (ICT), media, physical sciences and engineering industries.”

The Bread Yard is a bakery and a cafe. Its menu predictably revolves around bread items – sandwiches, all day breakfast dishes, plus a small section of mains such as rib eye steak. Read our review here.

The most prominent corporate here is Mediacorp which is moving from their Caldecott Hill premises. From observations made at our last visit, it does not seem that the move has been completed. We suggest that celebrity spotting should be held off till the end of 2016.

The main eating place within the Launchpad is Timber+. There are hawker stalls selling the usual types of Singapore food, including two stalls that serve some of the best noodles in Singapore. There are some mini-restaurants, that serve Spanish, Cebu and other types of food and retro food trucks that serve French, American, Japanese and other types of international cuisines. See our summary of the food outlets at Timbre+.
Biopolis
“Biopolis at one-north is one of JTC’s key projects to boost the biomedical industry as Singapore’s next engine of economic growth.” What we are more interested in are the food places here – and there are many of them.
Star Vista
Star Vista is an extra-ordinary building which is a collaboration between Singapore’s leading developer and a large church. Essentially, it is a 5,000 seat auditorium perched on top of three levels of restaurants and shops. See our story on the Restaurants at Star Vista.
