Yan’s Dining Fine Shanghai Cuisine Mandarin Gallery, New Restaurant at Orchard Road

Yan’s Dining Fine Shanghai Cuisine 嬿青私房菜 is a new Chinese restaurant that opened in the Mandarin Gallery along Orchard Road recently.  Yan’s Dining Mandarin Gallery is located on level 4.  I believe it occupies part of the space that, long ago, used to house Jones the Grocer. A couple of restaurants had occupied this space during the period after Jones’ departure and Yan’s arrival.

Lunch at Taste Paradise Dynasty Westgate – casual Chinese restaurant in Jurong East

It has just dawned on me that the restaurant group formerly known as Taste Paradise has dropped the word “Taste” from their name. On their official website they are now simply known as the Paradise Group. Within the Paradise Group, there are different categories of restaurants. The Taste Paradise Dynasty class of restaurants seems to have a focus on northern Chinese cuisine. They also have the colourful xiao long bao as one of the main attractions on the menu.  We had lunch at Paradise Dynasty Westgate recently.

Kiangsu Chekiang and Shanghai Residents (HK) Association Restaurant

Kiangsu Chekiang and Shanghai Residents (HK) Association Restaurant

Kiangsu Chekiang and Shanghai Residents (HK) Association Restaurant is quite a mouthful for the name of a restaurant. However, the food it serves is a treat for the palate. The Ordinary Patrons took a short trip to Hong Kong and were fortunate to be invited for lunch at Kiangsu Chekiang and Shanghai Residents (HK) Association Restaurant. It is reputed to be one of the best Shanghainese restaurants in Hong Kong and we can understand why. We have no hesitation in saying that our lunch there was most enjoyable.
