Little Island Brewing Company is a restaurant / pub / micro-brewery that is next door to the Tekong Seafood Restaurant at Changi Village which we wrote about a few days ago. These two eateries are so complementary. Little Island Brewing Co is a rustic western food and drinks place. It is a ribs, pizza, burgers and beers kind of place with the best seats outdoors. Tekong Seafood is a traditional seafood air-conditioned restaurant that serves local and Chinese food. We were early for dinner at Tekong that day and could not resist grabbing a drink or two before dinner.
Tiger Street Lab Jewel is located at the top level of the new Jewel shopping mall at the Singapore Changi Airport. Tiger Beer has teamed up with famous tze char restaurant Keng Eng Kee (KEK) Seafood at this Jewel restaurant. A smart move, as beer always goes well with tze char food. Whether you call it “zi char” or tze char (煮炒), this potent combination could potentially yield the best restaurant in Jewel Changi.
Little Creatures Singapore is a brewery, pub and cafe at the junction of Club Street and Mohamed Ali Lane. In 1999, Little Creatures Brewing started making beer in a shed in a former crocodile farm in Fremantle, Australia. Their craft beer was a success and as they say, the rest is history. We have seen Little Creatures craft beer in cans are in shelves in many Singapore supermarkets. Little Creatures brewery set up shop at Club Street earlier this year. Unusually for a brewery and pub, they open very early and have long opening hours – from 8 am to midnight. If you feel like a pint of freshly brewed ale at 8 am, you know where to go.
It was a sunny late Saturday afternoon. We decided to go to Brewerkz Singapore Indoor Stadium as it seemed like a nice place to chill out over a few beers with an early dinner. The beauty about this location is that it is away from the usual hustle and bustle of shopping malls. The atmosphere was casual and laid-back. This could have been due to the fact that we were there during off-peak hours. There are options for indoor or outdoor dining. Being typically Singaporean, we chose to sit indoors with ample air-conditioning. Continue reading →
Queen and Mangosteen is a restaurant and bar at Vivo City that is styled after the British pub. It is however, not just any ordinary English pub in Singapore. Queen and Mangosteen is described as a “Gourmet British Pub” on their website and “… the quality of food that it serves is beyond the regular expectation of Pub Food”. They also have some $15.90 lunch time specials that looked interesting and so we stopped by to try them.
