Little Creatures Singapore – Is it wrong to have beer at breakfast?

Little Creatures

Little Creatures Singapore is a brewery, pub and cafe at the junction of Club Street and Mohamed Ali Lane.  In 1999, Little Creatures Brewing started making beer in a shed in a former crocodile farm in Fremantle,  Australia. Their craft beer was a success and as they say, the rest is history. We have seen Little Creatures craft beer in cans are in shelves in many Singapore supermarkets. Little Creatures brewery set up shop at Club Street earlier this year. Unusually for a brewery and pub, they open very early and have long opening hours – from 8 am to midnight. If you feel like a pint of freshly brewed ale at 8 am,  you know where to go.

Brewerkz Singapore Indoor Stadium – beer, pub grub in a nice location

It was a sunny late Saturday afternoon.  We decided to go to Brewerkz Singapore Indoor Stadium as it seemed like a nice place to chill out over a few beers with an early dinner. The beauty about this location is that it is away from the usual hustle and bustle of shopping malls. The atmosphere was casual and laid-back. This could have been due to the  fact that we were there during off-peak hours. There are options for indoor or outdoor dining. Being typically Singaporean, we chose to sit indoors with ample air-conditioning. Continue reading →

Queen and Mangosteen restaurant and bar at Vivo City

Queen and Mangosteen Vivo City

Queen and Mangosteen is a restaurant and bar at Vivo City that is styled after the British pub.    It is however,  not just any ordinary English pub in Singapore. Queen and Mangosteen is described as a “Gourmet British Pub” on their website and “… the quality of food that it serves is beyond the regular expectation of Pub Food”. They also have some $15.90 lunch time specials that looked interesting and so we stopped by to try them.

Fourplay Kitchen and Bar (Closed)

Fourplay Burger

Fourplay Kitchen and Bar

FourPlay is the title of the performances of four short theatrical stories by Manchester playwrights Paul Thompson & Phil Pearson. Ironically, Fourplay is also the name of a bar and grill in Joo Chiat decked with the banner of Liverpool Football Club, Manchester United’s great rivals. A Liverpool Crest features prominently on the signboard of Fourplay Kitchen and Bar. It is clearly a place run by Liverpool fans or meant for Liverpool supporters, probably both. We were also curious to see if Fourplay Kitchen and Bar was serving “Benteke Fried Chicken”, “Pizza Crouch” and “Patrik Burger” (well, you will understand the puns if you are a slightly older Liverpool fan).
